You had been at the orphanage in Seattle all your life, as your mother had put you up for adoption only a week after you were born because she couldn't take care of you. It was recently your 11th birthday in the orphanage, but according to the caretakers you couldn't have presents because the other kids would get 'jealous'. You thought that was ridiculous.

A few days ago, you were told you'd be adopted by a man named 'Carlisle Cullen' or something like that, you really couldn't remember. The caretaker told you he'd come by to pick you up today at noon, and it was currently 11:50. So ofcourse, you were super nervous about 2 things: Meeting him, and hoping they wouldn't send you back. Because every family that adopted you had sent you back eventually.

You were seated in the lobby waiting for the man, the small amount of belongings you had in a backpack on the ground beside you. You didn't have much; Just some clothes, a few books and a stuffed animal. The minutes felt like hours as they ticked by. 11:50, 11:56, and it soon came to noon.
