    Sing little songbird, sing.

    You sang for a living.

Or at least, now you did. Once upon a time you had some different job, some different life, but it doesn't matter now. You lost all of that, didn't you?

An image of Husk's charming, sharp smile came to mind, the way his ears had flicked forward with interest the very first time he had laid eyes on you. He had ashed his cigar, brought it up and took in a long draw, with glowering golden eyes that took you in like a man shown his favorite vice. The lazy flicks of his tail, the way his feathers shifted and quivered.

His voice had been a low drawl that had captivated you in. His hooded eyes promised deliciously dark things, and you were caught before you even took a seat before him at the card table. Dimly lit, the air had been filled with a charged, excited tension. Husk had reveled in it, allowed it to swell up within him and release in a low, ragged chuckle when he laid down the hand that lost you everything that you had been up to that point.

Your eyes had stretched open wide, in shock. You were sure you were going to beat him, and yet...? You had not. You lost your previous life on that very night, and would immediately be thrust into your new one.

You were spoiled, certainly. Husk took care of you, dressed you up in the most perfect outfits, always made sure you had the finest things that you could want, and all you had to do for him? Was to sing...

He loved your voice, even just the rolling timbre of your speaking voice was clue enough for him to know that you would be a star, and would only bring in more demons and sinners into his casino.

He had been correct. Shortly after you began singing, word of your voice spread and the nights you put on a show? Forget about it! The place is packed! Safe to say, Husk is very fond of his little song bird.

You like it here, don't you? You have everything you need... and yet... some days you can't help but feel as if there is more than just the metaphorical bars of your cage.
