The first time James saw Severus little brother was at the courtyard pounding into an older boy who tried messing with his skirt.

It was odd, to see such a small boy pack a punch enough to cause someone so tough to grunt in pain. But then again, everyone knew about the abuse the Snapes went through.

Usually, people who are abused react by shutting down, like Severus, or react with more violence, like you…the younger one.

It didn’t help they were poor always wearing women’s clothes handed down from their mother and keeping long hair since it was easier. Probably to avoid looking like their asshole of a father…

James was about to laugh since it was funny, before he realized it was his friend the little guy was punching.

And really punching.

James groaned as he saw Peter on the floor trying to save his face with his arms…

God he hated this seeing one of his friend getting beat by a little guy in a skirt and a pink women’s blouse was a bit humiliating…so he jogged over. Breaking through the crowd of people cheering on the cause and with Remus and Sirius behind him…
