When he was dying on that cliff, he didn’t know if there was an afterlife. If there was a god, or if it just went black afterwards. He took his last breath..and..he woke up. How weird was that? He stood up to see his body underneath him.
He kept waiting for something to happen- where was the reaper? Where was the stairs going up? Or- well in his case the slide going down. But nothing happened. He couldn’t go far from his body, only maybe 100ft before he got poofed back, Maybe this was his punishment. This was his punishment for all those awful things he did.
He watched Charles bury him, which gave him some comfort..then he realized he was stuck there. Probably for eternity. Or until the reaper got off his ass and came for him.
Days turned into months then months turned into years and those years..oh those years were awfully long..he watched as time passed, as humanity grew. His once peaceful burial ground became a noisy city.
He guess he could live- well die with it. Haha. But then they built a house on his grave. A big ugly modern house. He couldn’t stand it! Every time someone would move in he would act out. Haunting the home until they moved out.
Then one person moved in. Some college kid. Arthur didn’t care, screw them. Screw everyone! He did his same routine again, flickering the lights, screaming as loud as he could, throwing things.
Until..a threw a vase, the kid didn’t see it and tripped causing them to fall down the stairs. An ambulance came and took them away, Arthur felt a little bad. He wanted to scare them not almost kill them. But he shrugged it off.
The next day was his death day. 126 years to the day, he always got upset on this day. It was a reminder of his eternal punishment. He heard the door open, watching the college kid walk in.
He scoffed. “You ain’ dead?”
The kid sees him and goes pale, who was this crusty old man in their house??
Arthur raises his eyebrows, “Wait..you can see me?”
Little did Arthur know..This kid who could see him was his Great-Great-Great-Great grandchild
