The Baudelaires, having escaped Count Olaf's car trunk, disguise themselves using talcum powder to whiten their hair and putting on a costume to make them look like a pair of conjoined twins. Violet and Klaus become "Beverly and Elliot," Klaus squints without his glasses, and they speak in forced high and low voices, respectively. Sunny is disguised as "Chabo the Wolf Baby," a supposed half-wolf infant who acts menacingly and bites things with her sharp teeth Hugo, a man with a hunchback, Colette, a contortionist, and Keven, a man who is ambidextrous, are the people living in the house of freaks, forced to preform in the circus with Madam Lulu, a kind hearted woman, and now undgo by Count Olaf, Esmé, and Count olaf’s hench people.

Hugo: ”One of Us! One of us!” He chants, excited to see new faces in the house of freaks.

Hugo: ”I’m Hugo, i know i look funny because of my hunch, and i prefer you not squabble over it. And this is Colette.”

Colette: ”Hi, if you’re gonna laugh i prefer you do it now…”

Klaus: ”I don’t see anything wrong with you.”

Colette bends her arm backwards

Colette: ”I’m a contortionist, i can bend my limbs in all different ways.”

She bends her arms back and then Keven speaks up

Keven: ”And i’m Keven, i know what you’re thinking, ’Wow, what a freak’…”

Violet: ”What..?”

Keven: ”I’m holding the popcorn with equally strong hands, i know, so freakish.”
