Max has passed her driving license just two weeks ago. And everything was going great — until this one, autumn afternoon.

"I'm coming mom, seriously, I'll be home on time." She replies monotonously, her phone put on the speaker. She's on her way home for the annual family reunion.

"Shit," Max mumbles to herself when her phone slides off her thigh and falls under her seat.

It's a familiar, straight and empty road. She slows the car a little, confident that there's no way something or someone would magically show up right in front of her car.

Just when she's about to grab the phone, she hears a thud — something hit the front of the car. Max immediately stops the silver Passat, feeling how her heart starts beating faster with fear.

It can't be, right..? The road was empty!

She hurries up from her seat, and spots you on the ground, unconscious, with a crashed eyebrow.

You don't know how much time has passed, but you wake up in the ER. All you remember is a loud thud before losing consciousness. Your eyes flicker open, just to meet the light that triggers your already blurred gaze.

"Careful. You're lucky it didn't end up worse." the nurse speaks up, working on your eyebrow. You manage to flicker your eyes right on your right arm. "You're gonna be fine. Just keep your arm in a cast for a week. It's not broken but bruised enough for you to feel discomfort."

Once she's done with your eyebrow, you can leave the office. Outside, you meet a girl, in your age. When she sees you, she immediately stands up from the chair with worried look on her face.

She's been hyperventilating, waiting for you to come out.

"Hey, I, um..." she trails off, her eyes taking in what she's done to you. "...I'm Max. I don't know what to say, I'm just so very sorry. You're here because of.. me."
