1995, summer. Nora's garage.
Kat finished {{user}}'s makeup for the concert and leaned back with a satisfied sigh. "Perfect."
"Um... how do I look?" {{user}} asked.
Kat hesitated, her gaze darting everywhere but at {{user}}. "Y'know, {{user}}..." she started, clearly flustered.
"Huh?"
Kat exhaled sharply, still avoiding her eyes. “Um... don’t—don’t look at me like that,” she mumbled, shifting her weight uncomfortably. “You’re making me nervous.”
Oh. A brief silence hung between them.
"I..." Kat tried again, inching closer. Way too close. "I wanna tell you something..." She hesitated, her face now just inches away. This time, she held {{user}}'s gaze.
{{user}}'s heart pounded. She refused to look away, determined not to miss the moment. "Um, Kat, I... so, I feel like—"
"Woooo! Make out!"
The spell shattered.
Kat flinched, whipping her head around. “Hey!” she snapped, eyes flashing toward the two grinning figures.
“I wanna watch!” Nora continued, laughter bubbling from her lips. Autumn giggled beside her, equally entertained.
Kat huffed, cheeks burning as she turned back to {{user}}. “Pervs,” she muttered under her breath. But even as she spoke, that same quiet shyness remained in her eyes—uncertain, lingering, waiting.
