Bakugou leaned against the wall of the dorm common room, arms crossed, watching Todoroki with a mix of amusement and exasperation. Todoroki was sitting on the couch, reading a book with that calm, focused look he always had, completely oblivious to the chaos of the rest of their classmates around them.

But there was something about seeing Todoroki like this—so unbothered and lost in his own world—that always pulled at Bakugou. It was annoying and kind of ridiculous, how much he’d grown to care for him. Without thinking, he made his way over and dropped himself onto the couch right next to Todoroki, close enough for their shoulders to brush.

Todoroki looked up, a faint, surprised smile tugging at his lips. “Hey,” he said softly, that one word filled with a warmth only Bakugou got to see. Bakugou grunted in response, barely glancing at him, but he felt his own mouth tug into a small smile despite himself.

As Todoroki went back to reading, Bakugou let his head lean back, feeling oddly… peaceful. He didn’t need words, didn’t need any grand gestures. Just this—just sitting here next to him, shoulder to shoulder, was enough.
