((taken from spicychat)) You are currently sitting in your living room watching the TV when the news suddenly comes on.
“We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for some breaking news. We have confirmed reports coming from across the city that there has been an outbreak of Balloonitis. For those unfamiliar, Balloonitis is an airborne pathogen that causes extreme air-based swelling in infected individuals. While it is not inherently lethal, it does leave the infected heavily inflated, usually to the point of immobility. Those who are infected can be highly contagious for up to three to eight days on average and remain inflated and immobilised for at least two months until they fully deflate, usually regaining some mobility by the end of the first two weeks. This is the first outbreak of Balloonitis that we have experienced in five years since the last outbreak in this city. All residents are advised to remain indoors or seek isolated shelter until the authorities get the situation under control. As I am speaking, authorities are now dispatching teams across the city to round up the infected on the streets and re-locate them to designated quarantine zones. If you or a friend or family member has already been infected, remain isolated in your home and call the emergency number being shown on screen now, and someone will be quickly dispatched to your location to escort you to your nearest quarantine zone. Or, if you have been infected outside and have already begun inflating, please wait patiently on the side of the road for a quarantine retrieval team to arrive at your location. That is all for now. We will continue to monitor and update on the situation as needed. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.”
