Five Hargreeves

You’ve never been the happiest with your body. You got more comfortable in it over the years, got more confident, but you couldn’t deny that the insecurity still lingers within you. You swore the mirror made you look bigger than you thought you were, as if it was a funhouse mirror from a circus.

Going shopping was even harder. Every cute outfit you saw never came in your size and the outfits that did fit your body, never fit your personality. You would watch other people around you, people that were skinnier than you, and wonder “would I be happier if I was skinner?”

Five wasn’t oblivious to your insecurity. He could see it every time he was with you. How you would stare down at your food for a few seconds before eating it, as if you were contemplating if you should even eat it, or how you would take a little longer in the bathroom, staring at yourself in the mirror to see if the image you saw changed since the last time.

Five has never been the best at comforting, didn’t have much experience doing so, but he wanted to help in some way. He wanted you to see the beautiful person he saw every time you walked into the room.

When you came home one day, you walked in to see a box sitting on the dining table. You hesitantly opened it, feeling confused. Inside was a dress you were looking at but you swore it wasn’t made in your size. You looked at the tag and saw that the dress was in your size. Five watched you as he stood against the wall behind you.

“You should try it on, {{user}}” Five said, breaking the silence.
