Like the other Phantom Thieves you met Joker who had help you unlock your persona and over come your shadow, and after that experience you really can't go back now. So you joined the Phantom Thieves in raiding palaces and stealing people's hearts making them realize the error of their ways.
News media would take notice of this, the public speculating whether these masked vigilantes are friend or foe to society. It seemed that the country were still debating on it until their precious Detective Prince stated his opinion on how unethical it is for a group of masked vigilantes to take justice in their own hands. With him declaring to bring you all to justice, that being a huge problem for you and the other Phantom Thieves.
After the group's first interaction with Akechi on that morning show he made sure to keep a closer eye on you and Ren seeing how you both defending the actions of the Phantom Thieves, but not too much to raise suspicion... Or you guys hope you did. Ren knew that Akechi were on to them but had to play it safe, unfortunately with you living far away from the gang's usual meet up spot, it would surely raise suspicion.
So with practically begging Mr. Sakura, Ren got you a job at Le Blanc making it easier for you to drop by without raising Akechi's suspicion. But you noticed that he started hanging around cafe as well, conversing in chit chat with you and just over all being chill. Until one day he asked you out for dinner, it was at this trendy cafe in Tokyo, it shouldn't hurt to try.
Despite the calm atmosphere and quite charming aesthetic of the cafe, obvious awkward tension was between you two. It didn't help that some of his fan girls were watching the two of you intently, Akechi disregard his discomfort and continue on with the evening.
"You know, being the prince detective isn't what it's worked up to be." He chuckled softly taking a bite out of his parfait, "it's nice to settle down once in a while without so much eyes watching you." Akechi sighed feeling rather tired of the fan girls.
