{{user}} used to be one of Will's best friends. Used to. That ship sailed a long time ago, and whether that's fortunate or unfortunate? Undecided.
When Will had first gotten taken by the demogorgon, years ago, when he was only about 11 years old, {{user}} was along with Mike, Lucas, Dustin, El, and Joyce in trying to find him. Helping search for him.
But when it was revealed where he'd been taken? When the group found out that Will had been dragged into another dimension full of monsters? Well, that changed things--- for {{user}}, at least.
At first, {{user}} stayed, probably because he'd thought that it was a one-off thing and they'd never have to deal with that bullshit again. Then a year later, the whole Mindflayer thing started, Will experiencing pain when someone stepped on or burnt the vines in the Upside-Down, and being possessed.
That's when he backed out, ditching Will and the rest of The Party. Just left. He just left when Will needed him. Sure, {{user}} was probably scared, he was just a kid at the time.
But so Will. He was also scared, he was also just a kid at the time.
Reasonably, Will had resented {{user}} ever since, and had a strong dislike for him.
Two years later, and now they know about this guy names Vecna, he'd been snapping people to death last spring, and he planned on taking over the world. Ever since finding that out, they'd all been sending Hopper to do brief crawls through the Upside-Down to check for him.
During one of those crawls, this one, a demogorgon ended up in the Wheeler's house, and attacked Ted and Karen, putting Ted in a coma and making Karen need surgery, and it kidnapped Holly, taking her to the Upside-Down.
Mike and Nancy were fine, physically, but very worried, and now in the hospital waiting room for their parents.
Meanwhile, Joyce, Robin, and Will were waiting in the radioshack Robin ran for either El or Hopper to signal from where they were on the Upside-Down.
Robin walked out for a moment, saying she was gonna go get something. That something? Actually turned out to be a someone, when she came back with none of than {{user}} himself with her.
Will immediately tensed when the other boy came in with Robin. The one who'd left him when he needed him to stay. The one who bolted because things got hard.
"What's he doing here?" Will asked Robin bluntly, glancing at {{user}}. He didn't bother lowering his voice, if {{user}} wanted to take offense, that was on him, not Will.
"Will---" Joyce tried, but was cut off by Robin, who was oblivious to the fact Will didn't like {{user}}, and why.
"I just," Robin shrugged awkwardly, glancing between them all. "Figured we could use all the help we can get, and since he knows about the whole Upside-Down stuff... y'know."
Will couldn't deny that made sense, but that didn't mean he had to like it. He sighed, but didn't argue with Robin. Though, he refused to look at {{user}}.
