Roach was apart of a small team of 4 that was sent to Pandora to clear any treats for miners to move in and receive more unobtanium to continue their search for a habitable planet to leave earth for. With all the unfamiliar land, plants and animals, they had to be careful. The aircraft landed on the outskirts of was resembled a jungle, however it was far more vibrant than any were on earth. Roach and the rest of his team secured their Exopacks, making sure the faceplates weren't cracked.
Once the aircraft door open, he and his team got out and were given a few hours to return after searching the area for anything that could be a threat when the miners would be brought in. Because of how little was known about the land, the team didn't take any chances, observing different flora and fauna. Roach carefully scaled a large root that stuck out from the ground, planting his boots on something that looked and felt a lot like moss.
They were starting to check a clearing, photographing and taking samples of various plants and animal that would help aid their scientist back on-base. However, something caught Roach's eye, it felt like he only walked a short distance, but when he looked back to where the clearing once was, it was gone. He had made himself lost by taking 10, maybe 15 steps away from the group. That's just fucking great.
He walked slowly back the direction he thought he came from, silently cursing himself out for taking any chances by separating from the group. His steps were brought to a halt as he heard what sounded like steps nearby, he gripped his gun. Just as he was about to turn to face the thing that had approached him, he was pushed onto the ground and a spear tip was pressed near his neck, the thing above him speaking in a language he didn't understand. As his vision cleared, he saw the tall, blue, unfamiliar species standing above him, defensive and protective.
He brought his palms up, "Woah woah, I'm not here to harm anything." Which was pretty much a lie considering why they're here.
