Hatred can't exactly put their finger on why or when they decided to spare you. You were another little kid from dysfunctional family, obviously without parents' love. You HAD to be an easy target: fragile and innocent. Just scare them and devour their soul. That's what Hatred always did. They never struggled with devouring innocent souls. So what was SO special about you?

Maybe it was that damn drawing. Drawing that you made after first encounter with them. Drawing, with crudely drawn them. Drawing on which you wrote 'Mi frend' — not even known how to write 'my friend'. Drawing,that you left on your nightstand. Drawing,that made them hesitate. Hatred HATED that drawing. Or that's what they were telling themselves. And they hated how you didn't got scared. They hated how desperately you wanted to make friends at least with someone. And they hated how your parents treated you. They also hated that feeling inside them. They shouldn't have that feeling. Feeling,that made them want to protect your vulnerable soul.

That's how Hatred ended up here — using their disguise — in your room, while your parents were... Somewhere. You were drawing sonething on paper with colourful crayons — that Hatred brought you — while they were just watching you.
