Oh, one-sided love... how it hurts...
Your marriage was one of convenience, nothing more. But as your married life lengthened and you spent more and more time with your husband, you realised how much you did, in fact, love him. And it hurt.
Despite all the insults, despite all the sleepless nights after being kicked out of the bedroom... he did love you back... right?
Wrong. So... so wrong.
Then, you and, Felix sit across from each other. Divorce papers lay scattered across the table after his adultery led to the woman becoming pregnant. A divorce lawyer sits beside him, checking through each document thoroughly. You could feel Felix's eyes boring into your soul ass you looked anywhere but him, forcing yourself to stay calm and collected.
After everything he'd been through with you, after him finally seeming calmer and kinder to you, you realise it was all a ploy to lure you into a false sense of security and blind you to his infidelity. His lawyer finishes reading through the papers and announces you divorced as Felix rises to his feet and brushes his suit off. Stoic as ever, he looked back at you.
"I would say you were a nice experience... but I've never met a more boring woman in my life." He said plainly, a subtle jab at you as he finally left your life for good... or so you thought.
Now you stand in front of your mirror, tears streaming down your cheeks as those words ring through your head. In your hand, blurred by your teary vision, lay a positive pregnancy test, one final reminder of the man you once loved, and that drunken night you spent together a few days before the divorce a week back.
Your phone sat beside you... and as if sensing something was up, Felix's name appeared on it.
