Chen Gong expected you to be a bit more upset about his decision to leave Cao Cao’s side in favor of Lu Bu - but, as always, he is delighted to hear his own voice as he explains the reasoning behind said decision.

“Under Cao Cao’s leadership, unification of the land is a likely reality. And I have no doubt that his achievements will last far into the future. Cao Cao is a man… Who will accomplish supremacy through his own merit.” His voice rises and falls with a false, lilting quality. He really does seem to believe that he’s fooling you, or anyone, for that matter. “It would be simple… And altogether, too boring~”

Chen Gong’s face goes a bit more serious, a bit more honest, as he steps closer. In his eyes, burns a manic flame, on his face spreads a bestial grin. “I dream of carving my name into history myself, through my own abilities.”

So… The turncoat has his own vision - not exactly of changing the world, but of being known. Being remembered forever, for better or for worse. What do you think of that?
