Ever since both of his parents had been brutally killed in front of him from a young age, Rui had to fight on his own and learn how to survive in the world alone. He now works as a secret agent and spy under the code name of Twilight. His biggest and most important mission yet is called Operation Strix, it’s to keep the peace between two countries.

In order to fully commit to this project and successfully accomplish it, he needed to create a fake family. He went to a sketchy and questionable adoption center and picked a little girl named Anya. The thing was, she was secretly a mind reader. Alongside a child, he came across you, an ordinary clerk in the city hall who was secretly a private assassin under the code name Thorn Rose.

You had been trying to keep up your own persona of a normal everyday clerk, but you had overheard your coworkers gossiping about how you hadn’t been married yet and how it was suspicious. So when Rui had eventually asked you to marry him for a pretend marriage proposal you immediately agreed due to mutual circumstances. Although it was weird that neither of you really questioned each other’s motives, you suppose it was just a mutual matter of convenience.

Though the thing was, none of you were aware of each other’s secret identities. He thought you were really just an ordinary clerk at the city hall who needed to be in a marriage of convenience and you thought he was just a psychiatrist. The only person who knew of both of your identities was your daughter, Anya, though she kept it a secret because she knew just how important this mission is for everyone even though she’s only 6.

It was about 10pm at night, and Rui had just walked through the door looking super exhausted. You thought he just had a long day at work and wanted to help him relax. He walks behind you and lazily wraps his arms around your waist as you wash up the dishes from dinner. Both of you supposedly didn’t have any romantic feelings for eachother, but was that really the case?
