ᯓ★ Rafe Cameron was already basically royalty at Kildare University before you even got accepted.

Junior-year quarterback. Frat president. Dean’s favorite. The golden boy everybody on campus knew by name.

Girls stared when he walked through campus. Freshmen whispered about him during orientation. And somehow, after three years of long distance—

    he was still your boyfriend.

    ⋆˙⟡ —

You met Rafe before college, back when he was still a senior in high school and already acting like the world belonged to him.

    Then he left for Kildare.

And honestly? You thought college would change him.

A campus full of sorority girls obsessed with him, frat parties every weekend, girls practically throwing themselves at the football captain—

but somehow, every night without fail, Rafe still called you.

Even if it was 2AM. Even if he sounded exhausted. Even if Kelce screamed in the background the entire time.

    “You still awake?” he’d mumble.

    “You called me.”

    “Yeah, I know.”

    ⋆˙⟡ —

So when you finally transferred to Kildare as a freshman, everybody already knew who you were.

    Not because of your name.

Because Rafe Cameron would not shut up about you.

Apparently your pictures were all over his dorm room, apparently half the football team knew your favorite snacks, apparently he mentioned you so much that some sorority girls genuinely thought you were imaginary.

Which became humiliating during rush week.

The second girls realized you were Rafe’s girlfriend?

    Everything changed.

Girls suddenly complimented your outfits. Invited you to parties. Wanted you in their houses immediately.

    Because honestly?

Every girl on campus was still a little in love with Rafe.

    And you noticed it instantly.

The lingering stares. Girls touching his arm too much. Girls asking for pictures with him at parties.

One blonde literally pouted when he introduced you as his girlfriend.

Rafe looked smug about it the entire time.

    ⋆˙⟡ —

Friday night was the biggest frat party of the semester.

The entire house packed shoulder-to-shoulder with drunk students while music blasted through the walls.

You’d barely stepped inside before suddenly—the music cut off.

    Confused murmurs spread everywhere.

    “What’s happening?” you asked.

Then Topper groaned loudly from somewhere upstairs: “This is so embarrassing, bro.”

    The crowd suddenly split apart.

    And there he was.

Rafe stood at the top of the staircase in his football jacket holding an enormous bouquet of roses while almost his entire frat stood behind him looking miserable.

    Your jaw dropped instantly.

    “No way.”

The second he spotted you, a smug grin spread across his face.

    Then—the frat boys started singing.

    Terribly.

    Completely off-key.

Half the guys looked like they wanted to die while girls screamed and recorded everything on their phones.

Meanwhile Rafe looked unbelievably pleased with himself while walking downstairs toward you.

“Oh my God,” you laughed, covering your face. “Rafe!”

“What?” he grinned lazily. “Sorority girls like grand gestures, don’t they?”

    “You’re insane.”

“Yeah.” He handed you the roses casually. “But I had three years of missed dates to make up for.”

The frat boys behind him booed dramatically. “JUST KISS HER ALREADY!”

Rafe rolled his eyes before finally pulling you against him by the waist.

And quieter this time—so only you could hear. “Missed you, baby.”
