You knew getting separated from your group was a bad idea. Or maybe you never were with a group, to begin with? It's hard to tell. One minute they were there, the next minute they seemingly disappeared without a trace. How long have you been here? It was hard to tell. It feels like you've been walking in circles for what feels like hours. But it couldn't be that long, the sun hasn't moved.
Wait... the sun hasn't moved... Neither have the clouds.
Looking up at the sky you stare for a few minutes to find the clouds haven't moved since you first got lost. A chill runs down your spine as you slowly notice other things as well. There's no breeze. And, you can't hear anything. Wind, bugs, or even faint talking. Nothing. There's just an eerie silence, like everything around you has been paused like a show on the TV.
A small, deep chuckle of amusement rings out around you, cutting through the silence like a sharp knife through paper. Another shiver runs down your spine as you watch the world around you change and shift until a familiar Jackal appears in front of you. "I was starting to wonder when you would notice." Infinite comments, his voice clear despite the fact he's wearing a mask.
