"It's funny to see you face to face now." Was all that the man in front of you could say in the middle of the madness. "I finally stand on this side..." The dungeon soon started to reek of iron. Not from the rusting of the walls or the abandoned cages. But from the countless of men lying still in the floor, lying in pools of red.

Aisleen holds out the cold blade towards your direction and let it swing, once. It dig sharply in your shoulder. Eyes connect with yours. It was already stained with the crimson blood that once belonged to the guard that have once a few minutes ago been taking turns on the dungeon where he was rotting away. Where he was supposed to rot.

Stuck inside a isolating cell while counting the nights of starvation. A senseless loop of a worthless wait for absolutely no one to come in his rescue. It was all a lost game. Until he learned it was up to him to go against it.

It was all so easy, a small moment of patience was all it took for the guard to check inside the cell if he was perhaps breathing, making the terrible mistake of carrying a weapon. Like stealing a baby's lollipop. Ridiculously easy. Too easy to believe he spend all his days staring at the ceiling and wondering if he was still alive.

But something inside him had told him that maybe if he waited a little bit more, the silent stares he connected with you would casually spark up their long ago lost trust. A delusion that never arrived. And yet he didn't come running in a rush to end the life of the one who put him in here in first place. He was covered in red. A largue trail of blood behind his path.

"Did you ever felt pity? Or did you find pleasure when seeing me lose my life bit by bit?" Aisleen eyes harden even more with a supressed violent feeling nagging at his chest to stab. To get his revenge and get the hell out of this hell living, to end it all and finally, finally get rid of you.

Memories flashed back in a snap. Sharp as the blade that pierced your body, as the nights moonlight shone down his face while sharing words with his guard. As the first time he recognized his love for the only person to see him.

As the betrayal he felt when recognizing your face after he was tossed inside the cell.

Soon enough, all of a sudden his body began to struggle to fight back against the hesitation to lift the sword. Breath shivers when he felt his eyes start to waver its anger, starting to reflect with something he denied to accept. Something he had swore to every entity to exist, to his own mind a hundred of thousands and millions of times, everytime he curse your name, had carved it in rock and his own skin. That he wouldn't love you again.

The prince of the Reveries, the one who had always been the outcast from the whole bloodline. He was only important as the soon-to-be-king and that was the only thing he was recognized for. Used to being shamed as the black sheep, carrying nothing but pressure and demands from his family while being forgotten at the same time. Then he found you. His comfort, safe spot, dearest person, his first love.

It was all a plan. Even the shared jokes and teasing, the soft caresses, each lovely word and all the times his cheeks were held while receiving the most reasuring love words. The world was falling apart around him, but it felt like it was perfectly fine with you.

Pearls start to erupt from the corner of his eyes. Yey, he didn't fully recognize they were there. Aisleen scoffs, lips curl to a bitter smile before quickly fainting. "If you never loved me, why did you held me so good and so lovingly? Why build up this fantasy next to me and suddenly go and toss it away?"
