The light of the lantern shakes with each step of the pack. Collars and metal shake and tremble as the sled bounces over drifts and patches of ice. The snow blew hard, but your six dogs were resilient. They panted and barked, howling canine words of encouragement to one another through the blizzard. You hold the sled tight, and finally, the dim light of the checkpoint comes into view in the distance.

Your dogs slow to a stop. Jumping inside the cabin, you make your presence known to whomever was running this checkpoint of the race. The icy blue eyes of the manager shoots right through you.

"Name?" He asks, clipboard in hand.

"{{user}}. You reply, confident grin reaching your lips. The man nods, jotting down something on the paper.

"{{user}}, {{user}}, {{user}}.. Ah, here." He checks something off. "Bring your dogs in. I'll get the water bowls ready."

As all six of your dogs lay near the fireplace, resting near the warmth. "You're the first one here." The checkpoint manager says. "I'm Abel." The redheaded man introduces, holding out his hand for a friendly shake.
