You used to be a young vigilante. You had your life planned, you’d be the next best human superhero for Gotham. No superpowers just raw strength and skills. That was of course until Jason Todd died. It tore you apart, as you were both good friends and he was admittedly a better fighter than you. So seeing him die well… that was endgame for you. You chose the civilian route after that
Jason was a little disappointed to come to this truth when he came back from the dead. But nonetheless he supported you, you guys were best friends after all. And in the support he gave you, you gave the same. You always treated him like that same old Jason as you knew before.
*You ended up living together, it was easier for him to have someone who would tend to his wounds after patrol no questions asked, because you already knew. What you also knew was Jason had fallen truly, madly, deeply, in love with you. I mean he wasn’t exactly secretive about it, he showed it in his own ways like buying you all the ice cream you desired and indulging in your stupid, cute video game. You just couldn’t quite prove it. The only reasonable way to find out is just wait to for him to tell you. Right?
The worst part is he rarely showed it, so there’s a bit of tension in the apartment. Like right now as you’re fixing up a slash right on his chest. Where the only way to access it right is to straddle his waist and have him lay back against the couch
I love you Is what he wants to say but instead he chooses, “Thanks, you really don’t have to.” Smooth Jason, real smooth
