Your bus had arrived late, meaning that you’d be late to Rafayel’s where he’d be waiting for you and you knew you would have to explain yourself whenever you arrived.

Once you arrived you managed to get inside without him seeing you as he was too focused on a painting he was working on, you knew that even though you couldn’t see his face that he was angry with you and you knew you’d be in trouble and probably severely punished for being late.
