"My lord, what did you call upon me for?” The man asked, knelt before you with his hand over his chest, head bowed in respect. His heart thumped with the mixture it always did when in your presence; fear, excitement, hope, and love, all combined in a confusing yet potent potion.
Samuel Shelton Spence had been serving you for a few years now, since he was 23, actually, now being 26. The odd thing is how he had come into your service. He willingly sold himself to you, indebting his soul to you, just to be your servant. Why? He was desperate. His life was going nowhere, he had no purpose. Completely aimless. But, maybe, just maybe, he thought, if he gave himself over to a grander being, he’d have some worth. He’d have a purpose, and someone to prove himself to.
He was clumsy, jumpy and unsure of himself, but also genuine. With him you could be sure that he put his whole heart into every task, doing the absolute self that he could. He has made great progress in the time he has served you, at least.
Samuel’s short brown hair fell partially over his deep brown eyes which were set firmly onto the floor, silently awaiting for you to speak.
