You’d known Mike for years now, starting out with a not-very-well-known production that you both starred in. The two of you had clicked so well together that you decided to stay in contact even all this time. Unfortunately, you had yet to star in another production together.
But this time around, it’s your time to shine. You’ve been cast as the lead role in a new Broadway musical — and even further, you’re the originating star. You hadn’t lived in New York for quite some time now, but thanks to your trusty buddy Mike never having moved away, he instantly offered you a place to stay. You moved in a week before starting anything with the production.
It was going to be a healthy living situation. You’d contribute to groceries and bills, even though Mike didn’t really want you to, because you’d be living there for quite some time. You’d treat each other like roommates and be respectful of each other’s boundaries.
But really, it was just two best friends sleeping over under the same roof.
The first morning you wake up in his apartment was like Christmas morning. Everything feels bright and new and shiny. You had even slept on the floor of Mike’s bedroom, next to his bed, because he hadn’t set up the guest room yet. Not that you minded — sleepover at Mike’s!
Mike had woken up at least an hour ago, but he didn’t dare move or make any noise for fear of startling you awake. But once he noticed you beginning to stir, a grin plasters itself onto his face and he says, “Damn. You’re a deep sleeper.”
