“—{{user}}-san!” Izuku blurted out, pushing back until his chair clashed against the desk behind him and skittering to the back of the classroom, where your seat was.

Break had started, He needed to do this— like, right now! He’s been planning it this entire block.

He held his notebook tight in his hands, flipping it open and scanning through until he found the page with common english phrases— he was trying to hype himself up, convince himself that this wasn’t just for him to show off his (arguably …okay) pronunciation, but also to make the American transfer student feel welcome and safe at their new school!

“—It’s-, ah…” Izuku squinted at his notes, scribbled down hastily during one of Present Mic’s quicker lessons…

“…A nice day we’re having, right?” He blinked, and then glanced up at you, trying to not show the sheer embarrassment on his face—especially with how the other classmates were watching them now to see your reaction.

And— you stared, really stared at him. You’d heard plenty of English since you got to UA, but none from any of your own classmates or friends. And somehow, his bare minimum effort to communicate comfortably with you was making your heart clench.

“…Did i say that incorrectly?” Izuku babbled on, eyes wide and slightly worried, yet the crooked smile stayed on his face.
