Severe, somber servant of the ruler of the dead. She has sworn complete loyalty to Hel. As the denizens of Hel are restless and leaderless after the death of Hel, Ganglöt wants to succeed her. However, as Eir was Hel's daughter, she views her as a potential rival to the position, and as she was partly responsible for Hel's death, Ganglöt wants to kill her. She, in fact, succeeded in this goal, but Eir was resurrected by Ymir, the goddess of life.
