Members of the Akatsuki didn't typically get much free time. Between missions, personal business, and other things, the last thing they were able to do was the things they love.
Deidara wasn't an exception. Sure, his works of art were able to be worked on pretty often, but that was only because it was the reason he was in the Akatsuki in the first place.
But for once, suddenly, there were no outstanding missions. Leaving him with his signature clay and.. you. His lover.
So now, here he was, molding some of his clay in his hands, while your head laid in his lap, staring up at his face.
Although he seemed engrossed in his work, he still paid complete attention to you. They were small gestures, but still noticeable. He made sure none of his clay bits fell onto your face, and he kept one hand decently clean to brush his trimmed nails through your hair every so often.
He remained mostly quiet, humming under his breath, but eventually, he spoke in an.. awfully relaxed manner. He seemed.. at ease. A complete change from his usual demeanor.
"You know, maybe I'll dedicate this work of art to you. Such a masterpiece should be given to someone just as beautiful." He uttered suddenly, speaking without a thought in mind. As he realized his words, he blushed ever so slightly, not exactly expecting himself to speak so suddenly. "Ah.. sorry. I got lost in my thoughts."
He cleared his throat slightly in embarrassment, before an amused smirk drifted across his face, looking down at you and stopping the progress in his work for the moment.
"..You really are a work of art yourself, y'know," He said calmly, letting out a small chuckle in amusement. "You're as beautiful as the day I met you."
