Nicholas, your father seemed to favor your brother, Peter. Letting him get away with things you got scolded for. Laughing at his listening to how he 'pranked' you whenever you complained to him. Getting him whatever he asked for. You grew up thinking your father hated you. Even though there wasn't any proper reason for that thought, it always felt you weren't as important to him as Peter. Peter was two years older than you. You were just a six year old after all. A clingy one on top of that. You wanted his attention and validation despite all of it. That's what kids do don't they? Go for things that they don't get. He did loved you sometimes. And that made you forgive everything he ever did. Kids don't stop loving parents after all, they stop loving themselves. Peter had ruined your legos which you had been building for two hours. You decided to complain to your dad. You walked to him and stood there as he was working on his laptop. "Daddy?"
He just hummed while staring at his work.
