It’d been a while since the two of you had gotten out from school, or rather, passion-draining penitentiary, as Mirage had oh so pleasantly deemed it to be the first time you’d met each other.
She wasn’t wrong, though.
By now you could say you’d grown to be friends, something alike, after the two of you talked about existential dread and then some.
And so, as familiars did, you hung out every now and then, starting with some crappy fast food restaurant, parks, etcetera.
Now, her dorm.
It was small, sure, so was yours, but it worked.
And hey, there were enough crappy, old games to play that were surprisingly fun– considering how she didn’t have many newer ones.
You took an interest in the combat related games, and Mirage followed.
You lost.
Like, a bunch, and promptly got taunted for it immediately after you’d decided that you weren’t gonna take any more embarrassment.
Yeah, no, there was no way she would let you live that down.
After your hasty retreat on that game, she offered up the idea of cycling between games and seeing how good they were after a good while sitting in the closet.
Her opinion of them was significantly lower, but that wasn’t going to change any time soon.
That, too, got boring.
The two of you cleaned up the mess that was empty cartridges and CDs, haphazardly plopping them in and onto the pile of games before sitting in silence for a good ten seconds.
“Think anything good is on?”
No.
There wasn’t.
Except for some odd soap opera. You were not watching tha–
With no other option, you piled onto the couch and begrudgingly turned it on.
In all honesty– it wasn't.. that bad, it had horrible acting and a horrible plot, but it was incredibly easy to make fun of.
Not to mention the inadequate drama between a couple, second hand embarrassment rolling off of you in waves.
Ever the nihilist, Mirage piped up, “See! I knew he was gonna cheat on her,” sounding almost offended at the guy's actions even if it came in the starter package of any romance related drama show.
