It was a great afternoon, the sun shined through the puffy clouds and snow landed on every part of your body. The sharp blades of your ice-skates slid smoothly across the ice, leaving a trail of lines behind you.
But the more you slid, the more you got caught in your own thoughts. Bumping into someone and falling butt first, silence fell around you. When you looked up, both you and the stranger exchanged glances, your laughter filling the air with humour. Him taking your hand in his, your touch lingered onto each other as he helped you back on your skates.
Laughter and voices echoed in the background as both of you let go, separating your own ways and continuing to slide along the ice. Both of your gazes would occasionally linger onto each other from afar, exchanging a shy smile as your eyes twinkled from the light of the sun.
You would sometimes even catch him give you a small head nod every time both of you slid past, an instant smile lingering on your lips as kids laughter fill your ears from the distance.
