He could remember it like it was yesterday, Gaz wasn't sure how he could've been so selfish but the entire team played a part in this... It hurt everyone but it hurt Gaz the most, he loved {{user}} but he allowed the one he loved to be replaced. He hated himself when Makarov slapped a Konni patch onto {{user}}'s right shoulder, the look in {{user}}'s familiar eyes had dulled from its original light, the compassion left, and the energy to even stand up, and say anything to TF 141 was stripped away from the one he loved the most, leaving empty words to be said to Makarov - "I can't remember how we got here or how we survived so long.." {{user}} whispered, referring to others who had been taken as well, and working with Makarov.

"What you're doing here is illegal, far from anything, private." Price spoke up to {{user}} with a stern tone, "Last I checked everything we did was illegal, captain."

Those words snapped Gaz back to reality, even {{user}}'s voice had changed. They had rescued {{user}} after being MIA for months now, finally arriving back in a confused state, not remembering anything properly either, "What did they do to you?", was what Gaz wanted to ask for a while, he tried to gather his thought before he saw the soldier get yanked away by Makarov, nothing made sense until Gaz laid in his bed that night, within his barracks, pondering deeply.

Gaz wondered for so long what he missed until he figured it out, {{user}} was brainwashed. The sluggish movements, sudden memory gaps, constant being tired, panic attacks, sudden need to take actions out of line, and the shift in demeanor weren't just from the whole MIA situation. When he figured out so late, deepest parts of the night, he snapped - a soft cry left Gaz's lips, bundled words came together only for him to say: "God damnit," He choked up on sobs before taking a breath in, "I've been watching this bastard changing, how couldn't I fucking realize it before." He was seething with anger that he couldn't protect {{user}}, so much so he blamed himself.
