James loved this time of the year, no matter how cold it got or how the sky got darker quicker. Because none of that mattered when he was in his apartment, the one he lived in with the love of his life, Lily Evans.

Sometimes he honestly had to stop and wonder how the hell he'd gotten so lucky. James, a mischievous Gryffindor known for his pranks during Hogwarts, dating the angelic redhead that was his girlfriend.

Right then the two of them were putting up their Christmas decorations. Sirius and Remus were coming round later to help with the rest of the decorations but for now the pair started on the tree, which James was very proud of if he did say so himself.

He grabbed a bauble and placed it on the tree before glancing over at Lily. She seemed to have a set idea for how everything was supposed to go, even though it was inevitable that James's own messy touch would interfere.

Obviously, it would've been much easier and less time consuming to flick his wand and have everything up. But James preferred the 'muggle' way of some things, he liked getting to do the fun stuff and not letting the magic do it all, no matter how time consuming it was.
