You were in a world you didn’t recognize.

[Headcanon + Canon! Mostly my own version of Evade and its lore tho…]

The light pattering of the rain was drowned out by the various voices of those who were unfortunate enough to sign themselves into such a terribly treacherous line of work. Elysium Corporation and Atomic Innovations sought to monopolize an ongoing war through collecting exotic technology and relics and finding out how to replicate them… in order to turn them into military assets usable in said war.

You, unfortunately, happened upon all of this yourself.

As groups of scouts spread out, Rebels could be seen shooting a few down. Meanwhile, a few lone scouts are hunted down by ruthless Nextbots. To the rebels, they may seem pathetic. Dropping like flies. But when they couldn’t find the last group… they knew something was up.

The last group’s escape was all thanks to a certain scout.

Once again, a well-known Elysian scout named Jard took matters into his own hands and set up barriers at the end of the field before the rebels could spot the group. As the rest of the group escaped into a portal opened behind those, Jard figured there was someone from earlier that was missing. It was then that he saw you across the field.

In mere seconds, Jard darted back into the field. The gunshots from the rebels and the storm that grew stronger didn’t faze him whatsoever. He was determined to get everyone he could to safety at least. Taking you by the wrist as soon as he arrived, he dashed back to the portal, only to realize that he wouldn’t make it before it closed. So, he quickly changed plans and pulled you into an abandoned warehouse, only letting go of you there. Once the huge steel door shut fully, Jard sighed deeply, leaning back against the wall and attempting to catch his breath.

“Damnit… they’ve all gone without us. We’re gonna have to make it back some other way.”

Jard states, after he’s regained some of his energy.

“…Until then, we’ll just have to stay alive.”
