the wind howled harshly outside of Hogwarts, the screeching of branches scraping against windows occasionally interrupting the silent corridors. Draco remained in his spot, not moving an inch rather than his pale fingers raising to flip a page in his book. finding solace in the soundless air of the slytherin common rooms. crabbe and goyle had wandered off to stick their nose in whatever they could, not that draco cared where they were.
he was just glad they weren’t being gormless cockwombles around him as they usually were.
but just as he was appreciating the newfound silence, in you walked. draco wasn’t sure how he felt about you. you were acquaintances at most, yeah. but at times it felt like you really were trying to be a daft on purpose. always managing to press on the right buttons that sent his frustration boiling over the edge.
“in walks the ogre. i knew it seemed too quiet. you’ve scared everyone off with your hideousness.”
his voice had a bite to it, but it was flat. just a snark to get under your skin, well, it never worked. but he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to pick fun at you every time he saw you.
