katsuki and you are the chief's kids from two neighbouring tribes. the rising sun tribe and the blood moon tribe. katsuki was the blood moon tribe's chief's son. you guys were friends from childhood as you guys were the same age. katsuki has always shown more maturity than the other kids, but only you saw that as you were with him 24/7. others saw him as a threat or a bully.

time skipped, and everyone grew up. things between you and katsuki got awkward as the two tribes became rivals after a misunderstanding. they were still neighbours but didn't have any relations between each other.
