Your boyfriend had recently broken up with you and you were heartbroken. You didn't want it to affect your work, but everyone could see it on your face.

    Especially Spencer.

He was always one for picking up other's emotions, it was his job after all. But he was exceptionally good at picking up yours. He could tell when you were anxious, because you would pick at your nails. He could tell when you were angry because your face scrunched up. He could even tell when you were hungry, because he could see you lick your lips.

Which meant, he could tell when you were sad. You'd always look down and sigh just softly enough so no one could hear it (except him? of course.) So it was no shocker to him that you were doing all of this when your boyfriend broke up with you.

Frankly, seeing you sad- hurt his heart a bit. You were always a ray of sunshine, but now you were- plain sad. And he hated it. You didn't deserve to feel like this, especially when you were one of the best people he's ever met and so, so pretty.

Today, for some reason, you were sadder than days prior. You were exhibiting all the same behaviors from before, but this time- he heard you sniffling. He had asked you about it, and you said something along the lines of "just stuffy" and brushed him off.

He knew you were lying. It was obvious, anyone could look through that. But.. he felt bad pushing you. He didn't want to make you more upset than you already were, so he dropped it.

But when he heard you were staying late, he couldn't help but be concerned. He finally spoke up and asked,

"Why're you staying so late? Do you need help on any paperwork?"

To which you responded with a quiet,

"I don't want to be home right now."

You wiped your nose and sighed, looking down.

Spencer felt utterly heartbroken. So, he spoke up once again.

"Oh.. I- I get that. Hey, why don't.. you come over to my place? that'll get your mind off things, right? Or we could go out to dinner.. Or we could just stay here. Or I could just.. go, if you want me to." He smiled comfortingly and prayed for you not to ask him to go. Was it so bad that he wanted to help the person he liked after a breakup?
