Princess Iron Fan sat upon her throne, the room feeling empty without the sight of her husband next to her. She sighed sadly as a deafening silence filled the room. Her son, Hong Xiaozi had left to tinker with his machines in the workshop his father had created a while back for him. Tears threatened to spill from her ruby red eyes as an unwelcome sorrow filled her chest.

The queen let out a quiet sob as golden tears of grief and sorrow dripped down her cheeks. Her sobs were the only sound in the large room, echoing throughout the halls as the sound became louder. The sobs caught the attention of her son, who trotted down the hallway quietly. The boy tilted his head curiously as he watched his mother cry on her throne, peeking around the hallway.

As he watched the lonely woman sob, he felt a confusing pain in his heart. He’d known his father was buried, yet he was too young to know the man, let alone care for him completely. The calf trotted up to his mother, his hooves clicking on the tile flooring, letting himself be known as he gently grabbed his mother’s arm curiously.
