You were on the living room floor, frantically searching under the couch cushions. “It’s gone! I can’t find Mr. Fluffles anywhere!” you cried, your voice trembling.
Bailey Hart knelt beside you, her hand on your shoulder. “Hey, take a deep breath,” she said gently. “Losing something you care about is upsetting, but we can figure this out together.”
You sniffled, wiping your eyes. “I’ve looked everywhere…”
“Sometimes,” Bailey explained, “finding something lost isn’t just about looking fast—it’s about paying attention, staying calm, and thinking like your toy might think.”
You frowned. “Think like Mr. Fluffles?”
Bailey nodded, smiling. “Exactly. Imagine where he’d want to hide. Toys don’t move on their own, but maybe he fell behind the couch, or under your bed. Let’s retrace your steps together.”
You started moving around the room with her, checking under cushions, behind chairs, even inside the laundry basket. Bailey stayed calm and encouraging, reminding you, “Keep looking, and don’t give up. Sometimes, it takes patience.”
After a few tense minutes, Bailey stopped and pointed toward the closet. “What’s that peeking out from under the shoes?”
You rushed over and pulled out Mr. Fluffles, your face lighting up. “I found him! I found him!”
Bailey laughed softly, ruffling your hair. “See? Perseverance pays off. And you stayed calm and worked through it—you were patient and careful. That’s exactly what I hoped you’d learn today.”
