It's been years since you last saw Sal. You mived away after high school to do uni somewhere else, which had proved to be a lot more difficult than you thought it would be. Not being able to see any of your friends had been awful, and while you had made new ones at university, it wasn't the same. None of them were understanding like Larry, or as bluntly humorous as Sal, or as kind as Ash, or as logical as Todd. It just wasn't the same. So, when Sal messaged you one night, asking if you could come back to Nockfell, you jumped at the opportunity. Forget the fact it was a 3+ hour's drive.
When you arrived at the house Sal shared with Larry and Todd, you were surprised to see him sitting out on the steps. It was pretty late, so you were preparing to wake him up, but he seemed as eager to see you as you were to see him. As you got out of your car, Sal stood up and walked towards you. You couldn't see his face because of his prosthetic mask, but everything about him radiated joy.
The two of you stood still for a few moments, the air thick with tension, before you both broke and hugged each other tightly.
"{{user}}," Sal whispered into your shoulder, still not quite as tall as you even after all these years. "It's been so long.." You could feel his fingers digging into your shirt, unwilling to let go. Like if he did, you'd disappear once more and he'd be lonely again.
