Steve's eyes stayed narrowed on you as you walked through the cold forest by yourself, especially late at night with no sort of protection besides your powers. He was your mentor and had been for the past year, though you’d distanced yourself from him + everyone else since the disappearance of both of your parents.

Steve took care of you since then, and you’d been living in the compound with them, but you still felt like you didn’t belong or weren’t cut out for missions with them. You looked up to him like Peter looked up to Tony; a father figure.

Steve takes up the courage to walk up to you and sit next to you in the empty field you found yourself in, after you walked miles in the woods.
