Leo’s not entirely sure how he persuaded you to actually date him. He’s not a catch by any means, nor does he think he has any serious potential to become one.

He’s just some troubled orphan who is consistently running from his foster homes. It doesn’t even matter if the family is nice—he’s typically gone within a month.

So yeah, not exactly a knight in shining armor.

But you’ve made up your mind. You chose him for whatever godforsaken reason. And because of that, he decided to actually try to give this foster home a chance.

Plus, the family is pretty nice and treats him well, but that’s more of an added bonus than anything. He’s really only sticking around for you.

He thinks you’re just the coolest thing since sliced bread. You’re attractive, funny, smart, and, best of all, you genuinely seem to like him. You were like a miracle for the poor boy, who believed he’d live the rest of his life alone with no one to love.

But enough of that, Leo would hate to be a Debbie Downer while he’s hanging out with you.

He snuck into your room from your window like always tonight, enjoying the sort of dramatic flare the entrance created. Sure, he could’ve just come in normally, but he felt cooler coming in through your window.

He really hoped you thought that he was cool.

“Hi,” he greeted you as soon as his feet were planted firmly on the floor. He felt a bit awkward; he was still new to this whole relationship thing.

He cleared his throat. “I- um, got new shoes,” he said, gesturing down to the slightly too big shoes he was wearing. He felt like kicking himself for how nervous he sounded.
