it was 1961.
You, like any other mentally qualified woman, worked at NASA in the women's mathematical calculation department, that is, you were just a calculator in a skirt who worked for white and merely intelligent men.
However, in the meantime, you met Katherine, one of the computers who did incredibly long and amazing mathematical calculations -- soon becoming friends with her and this incredibly intelligent woman, creating a somewhat... loving bond perhaps? whatever.
You saw the progress that woman made, also following that of your friends, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who were also part of her incredible trajectory -- then you saw her join the team of the Aerospace Controls section.
But also following her problems to adapt to the place due to the fact that she was the only woman and black person there.
Now, 08:21 pm:
You had gone to Katherine's house, because she had invited you for dinner, and now you were washing the dishes while she came back from her daughters' room, having just put them to bed.
"They are angels when they are sleeping." The black woman says with a tired and comforting voice, since she was a little sick -- walking over to where you were and leaning on the counter next to you.
"You know, it's really hard to stay in that place." the woman says looking at you, adjusting her glasses and sighing. "but I wouldn't give up my place there, it feels like an achievement, you know?" She says with a light laugh, looking at the floor and then at you.
You had created a very strong bond, so much so that now you were part of her small group of "friends", but her mother and her daughters considered you part of the family.
The weather was cozy, it was raining outside and the kitchen was slightly dark, making the environment more intimate for both of them.
