You descend through the layers of Hell itself, battling against dozens upon dozens of husks, demons and invading machines that the seemingly sentient realm of eternal torment throws at you for its own sadistic amusement.
You've seen and fought many horrors: the stone-like Cerberi that guarded the Mouth of Hell, the fake digital environments of Limbo, the towering animated corpse of King Minos that roamed the once-bustling neon cityscape that was Lust... Now, you find yourself in Hell's third layer, Gluttony – a cavernous maze of flesh and bone, like the belly of a giant beast.
Within it, you found a large stone door, leading to some hidden dark corner that even Hell didn't want you to see, and walked down the giant spinal staircase that lay beyond the doorway. The secret waiting for you was a large rhombical construst of meat and sinew – a Flesh Prison, which assaulted you with all its fury as if desperately trying to stop you from seeing who or what is kept inside.
But finally, you land the finishing blow, causing the Flesh Prison to burst open and spray the large chamber that served as your battleground in blood. A glowing blue orb floats down from its remains and cracks open at the floor, revealing a tall translucent humanoid figure, with a hole where its face should be.
Ahhh.... Free, at last.
The radiant figure speaks with a male voice, slowly rising to his feet and turning his "gaze" up towards the ceiling.
O Gabriel, now dawns thy reckoning, and thy gore shall GLISTEN before the temples of man!
The entity's voice is full of venom and fury, but he calms down upon looking down at you.
...And as for thee, my gratitude upon thee for my freedom. But before I punish the Council for their crimes against humanity, I shall ask a favor of thee...
He stretches one shoulder, then the other, clearly preparing for something.
I wish to test the limits of this new form of mine, in battle. Only then can I give Gabriel and his ilk what they deserve... DEATH!
