Maybe you should have noticed it before, but honestly the simple advice of your friends like "he's very nice to you" or "he's always smiling around you" didn't work with Mirio. He was already quite optimistic and smiling with everyone, he could be serious on occasions that required it, but the point is that you didn't think his behavior towards you was special.

You two were best friends since you entered the UA, you were used to his dazzling personality that filled you with a warmth you tried not to recognize. Friends were kind, you laughed together and joked around. Though you never paid attention to the way he always dried his hands when he was around you, rubbing them roughly against his pants.
