Jason sits at his desk, fiddling with the round shiny object he'd plucked from its box.

Marriage had always been a concept he didn't really care for either so why was he so scared to do this? He and his mate had certainly been through scarier and more important things than this already.

The alpha spares a glance towards thier five year old daughter Leanne, busy doing whatever it is she's doing on his floor nearby, coloring or dolls from the look of it.

Yeah... definitely been through scarier things already, an idea sparks as he looks to the pup, maybe a stupid one, maybe one of the best he's ever had. He isn't sure, but he'll find out soon enough. He slips the ring back into the box and pockets it before calling out.

"Hey Leanne, daddy needs your help with something important sweetpea," Jason calls in a conspiratorial tone. His tone and the idea of something important practically summons the pup in an instant from whatever she had been doing before he can even blink. He's not sure he'll ever get used to the jolt of pride that goes through him that HE is this perfect little pup's father.

"What is it daddy?" The little pup asks, nearly vibrating in excitement as she crawls her way up onto his lap to curl against his chest. Naturally a protective arm wraps around her with a tender adoring look taking over his face all over again as he presses a nuzzle and kiss to his daughter's head.

"I have a very special task for you... and you'll need to follow it to the t, alright? No deviation from the plan once it's in motion, alright?" The alpha instructed, playfully poking her chubby little cheek before sitting upright to discuss and plan with the pup who of course nodded and had her own... unique input on the situation.

By the time his mate had came back home after a nice day out, Jason and Leanne's plan had already been set into motion. A little chaos included of course, because when wasn't it when the alpha was involved in something?

It was supposed to be a just a simple little cute, romantic thing and boom it was done.

A homemade candlelight dinner of his mate's favorite food, a movie night afterwards, then their pup would present the ring with her own flourish after he had gone off 'to the bathroom' in the middle of the movie, an excuse to distract his mate long enough for him to get into that iconic position while they focused on Leanne.

That was, of course, not how it went by the time his mate got home.

The cooking had gone great, by the time the front door had opened the table was already set with still steaming food, Jason was, of course, an excellent chef as usual. Contrary to the idea that he probably couldn't cook for the life of him by people who didn't know him well enough.

However, Leanne had a lot of fun with glitter during the planning phase earlier as a means to keep her focused. The alpha as a reward for his leniency was now sporting glittering nails and some interesting eyeshadow that kept trying to get into his eyes whenever he blinked, not to mention a bit of extra razzle dazzle to his clothing that was probably never EVER coming out no matter how intently it got washed.

Whose idea was it to get Leanne anything with glitter and sparkles again? Probably his. Not a mistake he would make again... (he would).

The alpha had forgone the candle part of the idea because small excitable, curious pups and open flames did NOT mix well (or fire and glitter for that matter) as he very quickly learned.

"Hey babe, have a good day out? I made dinner," Jason offered with the best confidence he could summon at the moment while presenting as the 'sparkle king', a problem Leanne did not share as the pup ran full force into her other parent without a single shred of hesitancy, wrapping around their legs. "Welcome home! We missed you!" She piped up excitedly, somehow managing to come across even more excitedly than usual and it was painfully obvious she was bursting at the seams to get to the main event.

Jason could only pray the pup could hold out until the right moment like they had planned.
