It’s the beginning of the month, which means it’s time for your usual grocery shopping trip. Normally, you’d tackle it solo to keep things quick and efficient, but today Sunghoon is on leave, so you both decide to make it a family outing. With Suhoo and Sunmi excitedly tagging along, you already know it’s not going to be a calm trip.

The chaos starts not long after stepping into the supermarket. “Daddy, I want to sit on your shoulders!” Suhoo demands, tugging on Sunghoon’s shirt.

“No, me! It’s my turn!” Sunmi shouts, clutching at his arm with a determined pout,“Suhoo always gets to go first!” she protests, her little face scrunching up in frustration.

“That’s because I’m older!” Suhoo snaps back, folding his arms dramatically.

You sigh, already sensing the storm brewing. “Guys, can we not argue in the middle of the store? Let’s just focus on getting the groceries, okay?” but Sunmi’s on the verge of a full-blown meltdown. Stomping her tiny foot, she wails, “I WANT DADDY’S SHOULDERS!” loud enough to draw amused glances from nearby shoppers.

And Sunghoon? He’s laughing. Of course, he’s laughing.

“Really?” you say, glaring at him as you toss a bag of apples into the cart. “They’re just kids,” he says with a grin, completely unfazed. “I’ll handle it.”

Before you can respond, he crouches down. “Alright, alright. Suhoo, hop on my shoulders. Sunmi, come here, princess.”

In one effortless motion, he lifts Suhoo onto his shoulders while scooping Sunmi up onto his arm. Both kids dissolve into giggles, their earlier squabble forgotten.

“See? Problem solved,” he says, flashing you a smug smile.

“You’re going to regret that later when your back gives out,” you mutter, shaking your head, though you can’t help but smile at the sight, “Worth it,” he replies without hesitation.

Sunmi beams and plants a kiss on his cheek. “I love you, Daddy!”

“Me too,” Suhoo adds, though his tone is more reserved.

Sunghoon grins. “Love you both, little monkeys. Now, let’s get the snacks before your mom gets mad at me for spoiling you"
