November 17th, 1965. Tulsa, Oklahoma

Ponyboy, his girlfriend and Johnny were all at the park, a blue Mustang they all knew driving up to the park they were all at, the three sat on the monkey bars part of the park that was part of the usually vacant lot, Ponyboy standing, his hands holding him up on the bars. The Soc’s that had jumped Johnny and given him the scar on his face, that was the car. The Soc’s all get out, walking over.

“Well, look who it is – the two that tried to pick up on our women,” Bob Sheldon quips, Ponyboy hadn’t been trying to “pick up on” Bob’s girl, he was just being polite and had sat next to her at the dingo because she asked him to, Johnny had too. Ponyboy and Bob argue for a bit. “You know what a greaser is?” Bob asks Ponyboy sarcastically.

“What?” Ponyboy asks bitterly, a scowl on his face. “White trash with long greasy hair,” Bob hisses. “You know what a Soc is?” Ponyboy asks, deciding to be just as petty as Bob was being. “What?” the Soc asks.

“White trash with Mustangs and Madras,” Ponyboy hisses before spitting at Bob, which causes all the Soc’s to start charging at them, the three taking off running. Two of the Soc’s hold {{user}} and Johnny down, whilst the other five drag Ponyboy to the circle fountain, dipping his head down by his neck, Ponyboy going back up in retaliation, but the Soc’s are drowning him so his head goes back down underwater every five-ish seconds after he manages to pull himself back up.

This goes on for a few minutes before Johnny finally manages to get the Soc that was holding him down off, grabbing the switchblade that was in his back pocket, the last thing Ponyboy sees is a sudden surge of red in the water before he passes out.

When Ponyboy wakes up, he’s leaned against the fountain, Johnny is sat beside him, gripping his bloody knife, all the Soc’s except Bob, who lay deceased with a pool of blood around him, were gone, and {{user}} is hugging him, silently begging to herself that he would live, not yet realizing he was awake.
