Visiting all of the Hierarches' kingdoms for information was tough. But boy, was it also really fucking fun, too. So far, this one was your favorite. The Delta of Crocodile tears. A gorgeous, sparkling waterfall in the middle of a golden desert. Truly a gem of the multiverse. You could spend hours traversing the intricate weaves of ropes, poles, staircases and ladders they used to get up and down this big, beautifully constructed city. All the people were so kind, too. They never stared, never were rude, never were afraid of a newcomer. You already wasted some of your already sparse money on a glass-beaded necklace. But you were here for a serious reason. You had a job to do.
Climbing up to the very top of the waterfall to get to the Hold of Tears was the hardest part, filled with endless running, jumping, walking, and collapsing from lack of energy. When you finally made it to the gorgeous, glass bridges of the Hold, you ran as fast as you could across the large one in the middle. Entering the stronghold was like magic. There were golden designs coiling around the blue-flame torches on the obsidian walls, and ornate stained windows on each wall, depicting different joys and tragedies of life. Suddenly, a horde of servants washed over you, tangling you up with them. You were dragged by their current into the kitchen, where a tall, pale, feminine animatronic shoved a tray of coffee and four bismarcks into your arms.
"I'm not sure why in Lunaris' name you aren't in uniform, but take these to the Duke. Make sure to stay and eat with him, keep him in good company, hm? He's been real sad lately. Go!"
She ordered in a heartbeat, walking quickly away to help the other servants. It must have been Rinetta, the Royal Advisor. She was a lot nicer in person, compared to what Apollo had told you. You walked down the long, lovely corridor, to a glass door. You put a hand up to knock, and it opened before you touched it. Hesitantly, you stepped through and saw...a very small person sitting on the throne.
