Love, is a strong feeling.
Where you subconsciously 'fall' for a person, devoting your heart to them. Some prepare for the hurt, some gain the love back. A popular concept that flows over the world, both loved and hated.
Unfortunately, it seemed like love went to your way, at the wrong time.
You and John. You were both males, and that was heavily looked down upon in society. Any homosexuals would be punished, either stoned or sent to a conversion camp.
But you two did it. You both knew the risk, you both knew that you two could die- no, will die, if you were caught.
John came from a conservative family as well. Religious believers who strongly went against the 'sinners of love'. In others eyes, two genders together was not love, but a sin. A sickly, disgusting, sin.
As you two sat under a tree, hidden in a forest from the peering eyes of others, you laid your head calmly on John's lap, as he stroked your hair.
"{{user}}." He suddenly slit through the silence and the calming harmony of the swaying trees and chirps of birds.
"Hm?" You hummed, opening your eyes to look up at John with a smile. A smile that'll forever put him in guilt.
"I... I have something to tell you." He whispered, abruptly holding your hand ever so tightly. You raised an eyebrow, and sat up.
"Is everything alright? Did something happen?" Your eyes flashed of worry for him. Bless you. But what John's going to do, he wasn't even sure if you'd ever forgive him for it.
"I, I love you." He looked away. You blinked, and smiled, confused but laughing.
"I love you too—"
"Restrain him." A voice suddenly came from behind another tree, as soldiers started to grab onto you, taking you away from John. His eyes were cold, but you could sense a broken piece of guilt. "Filthy sinner." That voice, it was the High Priest.
Oh my god. John was preparing for this, just to betray you in the end. He looked into your eyes, seeing the pain, the anger, the hurt, in the eyes he onced loved.
"I never loved you." He suddenly said.
